Building inspection

Building inspection software for clear, defensible reports.

Inspect, annotate defects and rate condition on site, then deliver a structured building inspection report with photos by area and a signed declaration.

Where building inspection reporting slows down, and how Vistra fixes it.

The problem
With Vistra
Defect photos are hard to match to notes
Mark each defect directly on the photo and keep it with the finding it supports.
Writing up takes longer than inspecting
Dictate notes and let AI suggest defect wording you approve before it is used.
Limitations are easy to forget
The quality check flags missing limitations, captions and summaries before you send.
Clients push back on findings
Time and location are recorded on captured photos, and imported photos are flagged.

Questions from building inspection teams

More in the FAQ, or ask us.

Is there a building inspection report template?

Yes. The Building Inspection Report template covers inspection details, property description, areas inspected, accessibility and limitations, an overall condition rating, major and minor defects, safety hazards, photos by area, recommendations, a scope disclaimer and the inspector declaration.

Can AI write my inspection report?

AI can suggest photo captions and defect wording from your notes, and tidy up rough text. Suggestions are never added on their own: you accept, edit or discard each one, and the findings remain yours.

Can I add my licence number and business branding?

Your licence or registration number is a field in the template. Your logo and colours are applied to exports on paid plans.

What happens if I miss something before sending?

The report quality check lists what is missing, such as photo captions, limitations, a summary or client details, so you can fix it before the report goes out.

Better documentation starts with better reporting.
